what's a qcff?

the qcff is a film festival. its purpose is to generate interest in independent film, enrich eastern connecticut's culture, and further develop the quiet corner as a burgeoning hotspot for social activity and commerce.

the qcff would screen original independent films. This would be done in two categories. qcff officials would vote for winners in each category.

who would take part?

the films would be made and submitted by students studying film in local high schools or colleges, or more generally, anyone who wants to produce and submit a film for screening. the festival would be attended by any person, though age restrictions may apply to some films. age restrictions would be determined by qcff officials on a film-by-film basis. the tickets could be priced as follows:

where would this happen?

the films could conceivably be screened in front of large audiences in many places. number one on the hypothetical list right now is killingly high school. killingly high currently hosts a ‘movie night’ every once in a while for the students. the auditorium boasts a large projection screen system, and seats a rather large audience.

the festival could stretch over a weekend depending on the amount of entries and amount of interest.

the festival would enrich the quiet corner with a little bit of culture, and perhaps even expose some local talent. the recent growth in the quiet corner could make this the area for attracting people and benefits from all over new england. geographically speaking, the qcff is the perfect distance away from hartford, providence and boston.

the qcff could become a reality with a little help from the right people, and through the determination of its leaders. and hard work. technically speaking, the only true way the quiet corner film festival can be called the quiet corner film festival is if each quiet corner town participates in some way to this potentially huge event.
